Buildings in the EU will now tell their story through digital building logbooks (DBLs). This information management tool allows data sharing to improve decision-making across the entire value chain. The idea is to collect data over the lifespan of a building and to create a common digital data repository to ensure efficiency in designing, constructing, operating and financing buildings.

In this context, the EU-funded Demo-BLog project will bring together five different DBLs with a total of 4.5 million registered units. It will demonstrate how the DBLs facilitate transparency, trust, informed decision-making and information sharing within the construction sector, among building owners and occupants, and in financial institutions and public authorities.
