CINEA support the geothermal energy sector
The European Climate Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA) has published a CORDIS Results Pack Brochure in which 10 EU-funded projects demonstrate the continue support and commitment of the European Commission towards the development of the geothermal sector.
As highlighted also by the European Green Deal and REpowerEU, it is emphasised how geothermal can critically support Europe in reaching its climate-neutral goals. In fact, geothermal represents a viable source of renewable energy for both heating and baseload electricity.
For example, the EU-funded GEO4CIVHIC project aims at improving energy efficiency of historic buildings in the EU building stock by accelerating the deployment of shallow geothermal heating and cooling.
