The coolest heating 2023 analysis of the domestic heating market
The European Environmental Bureau (EEB) has conducted its annual audit of domestic heating product manufacturers in Europe for the third consecutive year.
As part of the Coolproducts campaign, the study evaluates the climate-friendliness of the portfolios of 72 companies. The assessment is based on publicly available data and manufacturers' survey responses. For the first time, the 2023 edition of the Brand Audit of the European Heating Industry draws on data from the European Product Registry for Energy Labelling (EPREL), which is publicly available since 2022.
This allowed researchers to increase the number of companies analyzed, by identifying additional companies relevant for the study; cross-checking companies’ responses to the survey and obtaining information about companies who did not reply to the survey.
Results are encouraging: 38 companies throughout Europe are exclusively offering climate-compatible technologies such as heat pumps and solar thermal systems. These companies are at the forefront of the clean heating transition, proactively driving change without relying on legislative prompts.
