The EU Construction & Demolition Waste Management Protocol aims to improve management of Construction and Demolition Waste (CDW), the largest waste stream in the EU, by fostering trust in recycled materials and re-used products. 

It outlines key processes, including pre-demolition audits to identify hazardous materials and re-use potential, selective demolition for safe waste segregation, and transparent waste logistics. 

The Protocol emphasises the waste hierarchy for processing various materials and insists on quality management at all stages. Additionally, it recommends policy frameworks for authorities to encourage cooperation among industry, government, and society to promote circularity in construction activities.
