The implementation status of renewable technologies for energy transition
Global investments in renewables have reached a record high, but needs more equitable distribution among countries. In fact, such disparities have been increasing significantly over the last six years.

This joint report by the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) and Climate Policy Initiative (CPI) highlights that global renewable investments have reached a record of USD 0.5 trillion in 2022, although this only represents less than one-third of the average investment needed each year between 2023 and 2030 to reach the 1.5°C scenario.
Moreover, investments have become targeted at specific technologies, such as solar technologies and on-shore and off-shore wind. In order to better perform the energy transition, it would ideal to invest more in less mature technologies, such as heating, cooling, and system integration.
