The construction industry is undergoing a profound transformation, as highlighted in the Saint-Gobain 2025 Sustainable Construction Barometer. The report, which now covers 27 countries, underscores a shared urgency among stakeholders to adopt greener practices, with 67% of professionals now claiming a solid understanding of sustainable construction principles.
Public support for eco-friendly building has surged, with 95% of citizens recognising its importance. However, despite this enthusiasm, the report identifies a critical gap in training, not only across different age groups but also among various regions, which is delaying the widespread implementation of sustainable solutions.
Private sector players are seen as the key drivers of this transition, with architects and engineering firms leading the change. As resilience and environmental impact take centre stage, the construction industry is ready to redefine urban landscapes, ensuring a greener, healthier future for all.
