The toolkit for cities on emergency energy saving measures

The toolkit is part of the Cities Energy Saving Sprint and its goal is to build on the emergency energy saving measures adopted by local authorities in Europe.

The toolkit is part of the Cities Energy Saving Sprint which is a joint initiative involving the European Commission, the Covenant of Mayors - Europe, and the European Committee of Regions to support cities in quickly reducing energy consumption.

The emergency energy saving measures highlighted in the toolkit support local authorities to adapt existing infrastructures, services and technologies by providing recommendations that could be tailored according to the municipalities´ needs. The focus in on four aspects:

  1. heating of space and water
  2. lighting
  3. mobility
  4. campaigning & communication
