Wallonia´s long-term renovation strategy

Wallonia´s Long-Term Renovation Strategy (LTRS) sets ambitious targets for the energy renovation of the majority of the building stock reaching an average A-level of EPC.
Editorial Team

Wallonia aims to implement an ambitious renovation process, setting ambitious targets for both volume and quality of housing upgrades by 2050. To achieve this, they must triple or quadruple renovation projects while enhancing energy-savings. Key to this is the Integrated Energy Renovation Support Service (SIARE), aiming to consolidate fragmented support schemes.

With an annual budget of €250-500 million, massification of support seeks to standardise services, optimise costs, and include vulnerable households. SIARE's implementation represents a medium-term journey reshaping the support landscape. Urgent decisions are needed for immediate adoption, offering a clear vision, stable framework, and continual support to all stakeholders.
