Implementing national 2030 BUS Roadmaps in Slovakia and Czechia

DoubleDecker 2 aims to implement the 2030 BUILD UP Skills roadmaps in Slovakia and Czechia to overcome acute shortages of qualified building professionals, a major barrier to delivering zero-emission buildings, deep renovations, renewable energy, and smart energy systems. Building on the foundation of DoubleDecker 1, the project moves from strategy to action by activating 20 national measures (implementing at least 12 directly) and establishing statutory, permanent National Qualification Platforms in both countries. The initiative modernises vocational education and lifelong learning to align with emerging needs, including digitalisation, BIM, industrialised construction, robotics, heat pumps, photovoltaics, energy storage, and building automation. Through national awareness campaigns and regional roadshows, it seeks to improve the sector's public image, attract new talent, and secure at least €5 million for the long-term roll-out of training programmes, aiming by project end to engage 130 organisations, upskill over 700 professionals, and reach more than 1 million people.
