• Solicitor:
Kieran is a UK and Irish qualified Solicitor with 15+ years’ experience in private practice and in-house / consultancy. Kieran provides expert legal advice across operations in the Construction, Energy, Renewables and Utilities sectors in Ireland and the UK.
• Arbitrator:
Kieran is an International Arbitrator specialising in construction and energy disputes appointed to the List of Arbitrators at the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb), the Hong Kong Institute of Arbitrators (HKIArb), the Malaysian Institute of Arbitrators (MIArb), and the Philippine Institute of Arbitrators (PIArb).
Kieran is empanelled on the President’s List of Arbitrators at the Asian Institute of Alternative Dispute Resolution (AIADR) (Kuala Lumpur), the FPD Panel of Arbitrators at Prime Dispute (London), and the Business Arbitration Scheme (BAS) at the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (London). Kieran is a Fellow of CIArb, HKIArb, MIArb, PIArb, AIADR and Prime Dispute, and a Member (and Fellow (elect)) of the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators (SIArb).
• Senior Legal Consultant:
Kieran is a Member of the European Commission’s High Level Construction Forum and co-creation panel with the task of leading the Transition Pathway towards a green, digital and resilient construction ecosystem in the context of a ‘Renovation Wave for Europe’. He interacts with stakeholders across the EU27 on the glide-path towards zero-emission buildings by 2050.
Kieran is also a Member of DG_GROW and regularly attends Workshops organised by the European Innovation Council (EIC). He performs an Ambassador role on the Board of EU_BUILD UP, the reference portal for energy efficiency and renewable energy in buildings across Europe under the umbrella of the revised Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) and the European Climate Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA).
Kieran collaborates with Brussels-based NGO, ECOS (the Environmental Coalition on Standards) as an appointed Legal Expert and Researcher in Public Procurement, advocating for mandatory Green Public Procurement (GPP) Rules in the Public Procurement Directives and the Construction Products Regulation (CPR) and Ecosesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR).
• Researcher:
In 2025, Kieran will be undertaking a Masters (MSc.) at the world leading Centre of Construction Law and Dispute Resolution, King’s College London where he will be researching alliance and smart contracts, gold standards in construction, green and sustainable public procurement, zero-emission buildings, and international construction arbitration.
