Covenant of Mayors – Europe Conference “Cities on the frontline of the energy crisis”

The Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy – Europe welcomes you to the conference “Cities on the frontline of the energy crisis”. The event will take place in the heart of the European district in Brussels, in the EU Commission's Charlemagne Building (Rue de la Loi 170), room Alcide de Gasperi.

The conference will be a unique opportunity to reflect on how local authorities are responding on different fronts to the ongoing energy crisis: by accelerating energy efficiency measures, investing more in green local power generation, and shielding citizens and local businesses from soaring energy prices, exacerbated by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

It will also be the occasion to envision mid- to long-term solutions for a deeper societal transformation, shifting away from mainstream consumption behaviour to more resource sufficiency, with representatives from the Covenant community and EU institutions.

In this event, local leaders from European cities municipalities and regions will exchange with high-level representatives from the European institutions, including the Executive Vice-President of the European Commission Frans Timmermans, the EU Commissioner for Energy Kadri Simson, and the President of European Committee of the Regions Vasco Cordeiro.

To participate, please register here by Thursday 23 March (23:59 CEST).
