Energy Performance Certificates (EPC) are a central part of energy efficiency legislation in buildings throughout Europe. Next-generation EPCs have a great potential to be more useful. The detailed analysis of existing EPCs in crossCert was accompanied by detailed research on how EPCs could be added to existing national databases and renovation one-stop shops, how they could make the most of both existing and future tools like energy audits, building logbooks and building renovation passports, and how they could help end-users and potential investors to understand the full potential and multidimensionality of building renovations.
