With the European Union's commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050, the built environment plays a pivotal role in reducing energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. The design of energy-efficient buildings not only mitigates environmental impact but also enhances the quality of life for occupants. However, the successful implementation of these measures is often based on effective financing strategies and public economic incentives.
This conference seeks to explore innovative solutions and share best practices that address these complex challenges, driving progress toward a sustainable future.
Open Call for Papers
The conference welcomes contributions that explore a range of topics related to energy efficiency measures, sustainable design, and innovative financing solutions.
Suggested topics are below, but are not limited to:
Energy efficiency design strategies: Innovative architectural designs that promote energy conservation / Passive design techniques and their application in EU climates / Integration of renewable energy sources in building design.
Financial mechanisms for sustainability: Public and private financing models for energy-efficient buildings / Cost-benefit analysis of energy efficiency investments / Business Models, incentives and subsidies for sustainable building practices.
Policy and regulatory frameworks: Impact and modelling of EU policies on energy efficiency in buildings / Comparative analysis of energy efficiency regulations across member states / Role of local governments in promoting sustainable practices / Technological Innovations.
Smart technologies for energy management in buildings: Emerging materials and their impact on energy efficiency / Digital tools for design and performance assessment / Case Studies and Best Practices.
Successful implementation of energy efficiency projects in the EU: Lessons learned from failed initiatives / Stakeholder engagement in sustainable building projects / User Behavior and Energy Consumption.
Influence of occupant behaviour on energy efficiency: Strategies for promoting energy-saving behaviours in buildings / The role of education and awareness in energy efficiency / Energy poverty and related behaviour.
Assessing the environmental impact of building materials and designs: Tools for measuring and reporting energy performance / Integrating sustainability metrics into financial decision-making / LCA analysis in buildings and infrastructure.
Submission guidelines
Authors are invited to submit original research papers aligned with the conference themes. Submissions will be peer-reviewed and must follow the formatting guidelines on the conference website. Selected papers may be invited for an extended version in a SCOPUS-indexed journal's Special Issue.
