As part of EUSEW 2024, the primary goal in this policy session is to explore the potential of citizen led renovation in empowering citizens and communities to accelerate energy renovations as a key component in achieving the EU’s climate and energy targets.

Following the recent recast of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) the EU has set ambitious renovation targets for residential buildings and the Support Service for Citizen-Led Renovation explores ways to support a successful implementation. It will provide guidance for policy makers and build a network of on-the-ground initiatives which provide lessons learned and best practices on which enabling national regulation can be built on.
