Cities and municipalities are at the forefront of the energy transition. Decarbonising the heating and cooling sector presents one of the biggest challenges and opportunities for local communities in the coming years.
The recently revised Energy Efficiency Directive (see article 25.6) establishes the obligation for municipalities to draw up heating and cooling plans for municipalities with more than 45.000 inhabitants.
