e-think energy research for the CoolLIFE project

As temperatures rise, cooling needs in cities grow—yet sustainable solutions remain underutilized. This training introduces the CoolLIFE project, which supports low-carbon space cooling (SC) strategies across the EU.

This interactive session will provide practical knowledge on cooling demand analysis, DHC potential, innovative solutions, and how to integrate them into energy planning, as well as policy and financial instruments for sustainable space cooling.

Participants will gain hands-on experience with CoolLIFE’s two key resources:

  • CoolLIFE Tool – Analyze SC demand at different scales, assess demand response measures, and explore green cooling technologies within economic and policy frameworks.

  • CoolLIFE Knowledge Hub – Access quality-controlled data, funding schemes, and user behavior insights to support sustainable cooling planning.

The session includes live demonstrations, interactive tutorials, and practical exercises on data mapping, scenario modeling, and technology comparisons. Participants will explore nature-based, passive, and free cooling solutions to integrate into NECPs, Comprehensive Assessments, and municipal plans.
