The built environment significantly impacts public health, yet its potential for health promotion is often overlooked.

Historically, architects and urban planners have explored how design influences health, but health professionals have not fully embraced this perspective.

The pandemic highlighted the importance of indoor air quality, safety, and trust in shared spaces, pushing the need for interdisciplinary strategies.

Sustainable and wellness-focused design should be integrated, as both priorities impact ecological and societal well-being. A holistic approach to design can improve occupant health, promote equity, and reduce environmental harm

Future solutions require collaboration across sectors to address global challenges and enhance long-term resilience.
