Heat pump standardisation supported by REHVA
Heat pumps are set to be pivotal in the EU's energy transition, backed by European funding. A transparent, harmonised performance assessment is crucial to ensure energy efficiency and climate impact reflect reality, preventing market fragmentation. The evaluation must consider both product characteristics and system running conditions, requiring accuracy, reliability, and simplicity.
The European standard EN15316-4-2 is undergoing revision, facilitated by a task group under CEN TC228. Experts from various sectors convened in Paris in January 2024 to kick off this initiative, including representatives from REHVA, emphasising the importance of their expertise in shaping the revision process and ensuring its effectiveness.
