The EU's REPowerEU strategy aims to enhance energy efficiency in buildings and reduce dependence on Russian fossil fuels. However, an analysis by McKinsey & Company highlights the need for tech scale-up to meet targets, lacking the capacity at current rates.

By 2030, over 1 million workers in the solar field will be required and, furthermore, an additional 750,000 installers to increase heat pump production and deployment.

Challenges include structural issues in old buildings and low renovation rates. The strategy aligns with broader sustainability initiatives like the European Green Deal and Fit for 55 legislation.
