During the interview, Paula Pinho was asked about the readiness of the European workforce to deliver on the Fit for 55 package and how the revised EU regulatory framework is supporting skills development to achieve the sector’s climate and energy objectives. She elaborated on various legislation that has been put in place to do just that, including the Net-Zero Industry Act, the Energy Efficiency Directive, the Renewable Energy Directive, and more. 

She was also asked how the EU has provided support so far in upskilling professionals, where she highlighted the ongoing Year of Skills and the need to raise awareness for the crucial role of the workforce in enabling the green transition. Finally, she was asked about the role of Member States in supporting the much-needed upskilling of workers.
