This two family house is a new building and it is a certified passive house in ecological timber construction. The house indeed has been built with regional wood and consistent use of natural building materials. Thanks to energy efficiency measures and renewable energy, the building has very low energy requirements.

Case study

This center for construction skills learning has been delivered by EBBA together with the London Legacy Development Corporation. The school provides the opportunity for local people to be sponsored through practical education and training. The results is an innovative and sustainable solution and adapting architecture.

The BPIE report "Whole life carbon and industrial renovation: realising the opportunities to reduce the lifecycle carbon footprint of buildings" focuses on opportunities to leverage both the whole-life carbon impact of renovation and industrial prefabricated renovation solutions and provides recommendations for policymakers aiming to create an optimal policy framework to reduce emissions from buildings while fostering innovation in the renovation sector.

This single-family house is located in Bucharest and is Passive House certified. Indeed, the building has minimal environmental impact due to its extremely low energy requirements. This need is generated by the production of renewable energy: 19 photovoltaic panels are located on the 2 terraces of the building.

Case study

France has established a specific energy efficiency plan to save energy in the approaching winter season. In particular, to reduce energy consumption by 10% in two years, the government has slated 15 key measures which go from use of appliances, to carpooling, etc. However, the government has not set binding targets.

Within the Open Thor Living Lab, two new infrastructure projects have been inaugurated: CollecThor and THOREAQ.
