Efficiency House Plus conformant Extension of Primary School
Due to increasing pupil numbers and structural change, the Municipality of Giebelstadt in Germany decided to add an extension building to the existing main building of the Giebelstadt Primary School. The new building provides space for the after-school programme and was built conformant with the Efficiency House Plus standard.

An increase in the severity and duration of heatwaves is expected, resulting in more severe overheating risks, affecting in turn the health and mortality of building users. To achieve more future-proof buildings, it is crucial to design buildings that are “resilient” to overheating in future climate conditions.
