The survey "The State of Energy Management 2022" has been released and can be downloaded here. As in previous editions, this year it is also focused on Energy Service Companies (ESCOs), the challenges they faced in 2022, their priorities for 2023 and the trends they believe will shape the energy landscape in the upcoming years. In this article, we will have a closer look at the results.
The Integrale Energietransitie Bestaande Bouw (IEBB) programme is a multi-year programme focusing on various renovation concepts that are easy to approach and use for residential buildings. The solutions this programme works on focus on digitalisation, heat storage, industrialisation and partnership models and decision-making frameworks.
Existing buildings are at the forefront of energy consumption in Europe and are currently considered energy inefficient. The DIGIBUILD project focuses on creating digital enablers to transform existing buildings into digital and more efficient ones, thus contributing to the creation of energy-efficient building data spaces.
The lack of interoperability between datasets is a current problem, and also applies to buildings. In this respect, the MODERATE project aims to develop an open marketplace so that data owners can reliably share their data.
On Thursday 26th January from 11.00H - 12.30H CET, BUILD UP welcomed the SunHorizon, HAPPENING, MiniStor and ComBioTES projects in the first BUILD UP organised and hosted webinar of 2023. The event was organised under the January 2023 Topic of the Month “Renewable heating solutions for buildings”.

On Monday 13th February from 10.00H to 11.00H CET, BUILD UP hosts the webinar "CITIES – BUILDINGS – SKILLS: Energy Renovations in Historic Areas at Different Scales", organised by the Cyprus Energy Agency (CEA).

The aim of this project is to contribute to the development of a smart, resilient and secure energy system by establishing collaboration schemes between transmission system operators, distribution system operators and consumers. CoordiNet will carry out ten pilot projects in an attempt to make electricity more efficient and reliable.
The ePlanet project helps the public sector to switch from fossil fuel-based energy systems to renewable energy sources by facilitating coordination between local and regional authorities. This will be achieved by digitising measures and plans and using innovative big data and artificial intelligence tools.
The ThermoDust project will work towards new materials for IT equipment with beneficial thermal characteristics, as it is estimated that 40% of the total energy consumption of a typical office building goes to cooling this equipment. In this way, the aim is to develop more flexible materials that will help to reduce the amount of energy used in these buildings for this task.
Euroheat & Power (EHP) promotes sustainability in heating and cooling not only throughout Europe, but also around the world. It raises awareness of the benefits of combined heat & power and district heating and cooling.
