The agenda prioritises the implementation of advanced building codes, retrofits in underserved communities, and smart growth zoning policies to reduce costs and foster resilient housing.

The American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE) initiatives aim to lower the expenses of owning, renting, and maintaining homes while safeguarding the environment for future generations.

Energy efficiency is a proven strategy for reducing utility bills and making homes more affordable, as demonstrated by ACEEE's Pathways to Zero initiative. This programme collaborates with States to adopt stronger residential energy codes, ensuring new homes are powered entirely by renewable sources. Additionally, the Residential Retrofits for Energy Equity (R2E2) programme targets low- and moderate-income households, providing essential upgrades to reduce energy burdens. ACEEE's efforts also encompass advocating for federal efficiency standards and funding, defending key programmes from recent legislative acts to promote clean and efficient buildings.
