REbuild 2024, main event for innovation in the construction sector in Italy, featured a workshop by Eurac Research on designing comfortable buildings with a positive energy balance (PEBs).

Attended by over 50 participants, the workshop focused on the user-centric approach essential for the acceptance and integration of PEBs. The technologies developed by the project H2020 Cultural-E were presented, to launch the discussion on the importance of user well-being in residential buildings, touching upon challenges such as air quality, cultural diversity in comfort perception, and the implementation of advanced technologies. Strategies for overcoming these barriers were also discussed, emphasizing the need for tailored building designs and integrated control strategies.
