The Rocket&Tigerli project has the potential to have a big impact on the future of sustainability. The Rocket&Tigerli site's original masterplan, envisioning a closed block with a tower, underwent transformation for enhanced living quality. To maximise daylight inflow and create a vibrant urban space, the closed block structure was divided into an open configuration, allowing dual-aspect daylight for most apartments. This open design contributes to the city's spatial hierarchy, fostering connections with neighbouring plazas.
The ground floor hosts public functions, inviting community engagement. Each building within the block has a distinct identity, promoting a sense of belonging. A unitised facade system showcases the timber frame construction, emphasising sustainability and reducing the need for additional cladding in the interiors.
The effect of using a wood as building material is that the building´s carbon footprint will be minimised by 30-40%.
