BUSLeague
Dedicated to stimulate demand for sustainable energy skills in the construction sector
BUSLeague tackled the demand for an energy-skilled workforce by developing a publicly available cross-craft qualification framework (comprising 98 tasks and 92 learning outcomes), that remains accessible today for shaping new training programs. During its execution, the project successfully upskilled over 5,600 individuals, including retail staff and installers, while securing concrete commitments to integrate energy skills into public procurement. The project provides open access to a vast compilation of tailored curricula, e-tools, and handbooks, which continue to be utilized by partnered training centers across Europe.
Key usable outputs and tools:
- BUILD UP Skills Advisor App integration: A dynamic smartphone application featuring a smart mobile web interface connected to a localized Unit of Learning Outcomes database. It operates as a live, consumer-facing tool to trace, locate, and verify skilled energy professionals, while helping craftsmen find relevant technical training courses.
- BUS data course repository: A newly launched digital accreditation registry designed to map, find, upload, and accredit upskilling coursework. The repository includes an administrative interface that allows training centers to officially verify and digitally certify learners within the system.
- Evaluation 123 framework and digital toolset: A complete, self-directed evaluation toolkit and decision-tree architecture hosted on open cloud drives. It provides training institutions with the actionable tools, survey methods, and learning analytics needed to systematically measure the effectiveness of new educational interventions.
- Best practice procurement guides and templates: A series of standalone reference policy guides complete with legally compliant template clauses. These documents allow public procurement offices to seamlessly incorporate "Energy Efficiency/nZEB" competency requirements directly into public tendering rules. Airtightness Smoke-Generator Mock-up: A physical, portable demonstration model constructed to visually illustrate the immediate impacts of architectural airtightness on mechanical ventilation systems through the live deployment of integrated smoke generators.
- BUSLeague digital storybook: A newly compiled, narrative-based training guide published directly on the project's portal. It aggregates firsthand anthropological field insights, real-world worker profiles, and cross-border retail experiences into an open-access resource for market replication.
